Extractive Industries
Extractive industries are those industries which derive materials from nature itself with the use of human labour . They are the industries which make the materials obtained from nature by human effort ; suitable for human consumption without reprocessing them. These extractive industries are subdivided into agriculture, forestry,minerals and fisheries.1. Agriculture -Cultivation such as paddy,vegetables,grams,rubber,coconut and livestock farming which supplies eggs,milk,meat.
2. Mineral Industry - graphite,gems, limanite.
3. Fisheries Industries - Fishing industry.
4. Forestry Industry - Timber, Flowers,Firewood.
Constructional Industries/Manufacturing Industries.
Constructional industries are divided into two groups as conversion industries and assembling industries.Production of goods by changing the nature of materials obtained from the extractive industries is known as conversion industry.
Eg: Motor vehicle and buildings.
Services Production
All the invisible and intangible production. Services could be divided into sectors as commercial services and direct services.Commercial Services
All the services which are connected with the distribution if goods produced are known as commercial services. They are the auxiliary services such as transport,warehousing,banking.insurance and communication. Services such as collecting,grading and packing are also included.Direct Services
Direct Services are those services which are not directly connected to the exchange of goods , but which are supplied directly and personality to fulfill human needs.Eg : Medical Services,legal services, security services.
